The Calgary Stampede is ready to go in its first return to normal capacity since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday. The thrills are being set up. The snack booths are ready to go. And stuffed animals are being exhibited at the game tables.

In the year 2020, the 10-day celebration of the cowboy life was scrapped for the very first time in the event’s history of 112 years.

The previous year, it made a comeback with a scaled-down form that featured a restriction on the number of people who may be present in Stampede Park. A limit on the number of people who could be within certain tents.

John Scott, a 3rd rancher, a veteran of the film industry for whom the company has been a part of seven films that have won Oscars, an all-around manufacturing champion, horse wrangler, stunt coordinator, and horse and livestock supplier, will end up serving as the honorary Parade Marshal. His company was a part of seven films that have won Oscars.

David Spence is a meteorologist with the Calgary Weather Network. He has been selected to serve as the Celebrity Judge for the Parade that will take place this year. David will choose the entry that he believes best embodies the spirit of the Calgary Stampede to receive the 2022 Celebrities’ Choice Award.
