At the CNFR, which takes place annually in Casper, Wyoming, approximately 400 cowboys and cowgirls from more than 100 different universities and community colleges compete.
Participants compete throughout the year in one of NIRA’s 11 areas for the opportunity to rope or ride at the Canadian National Finals Rodeo.
The CNFR will consist of the top three students in each event, as well as the top two men’s and women’s teams from each of the 11 regions that make up NIRA.
Each individual will compete in a total of three rounds, with the top 12 competitors from each round advancing to the championship round.
At this event, the champions of the individual events, the men’s and women’s all-around competitions, as well as the teams competing for the national title, are determined.
