US Women’s Open 2022 is going to start on June 2 at the Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club. Here, you will know when, where, and how to watch the tournament with tee times.
The comeback of American star Nelly Korda is one of the big topics coming into the second major of the year. Korda has been out since March, recuperating from a blood clot that forced her to miss the Chevron Championship. Korda has never won the US Women’s Open, but she did win her first major in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship last year.
She’ll be up against a strong field that includes Jin Young Ko, the player who dethroned Korda as world No. 1, Lydia Ko, the world No. 3, and emerging star Jennifer Kupcho, who won her maiden major at the Chevron in March. Michelle Wie West, who has stated that she will be in the field, will also be there.

US Women’s Open 2022 Purse:
IN JANUARY, the USGA announced that the US Women’s Open purse would nearly double this year. After adding the presenting sponsor Promedica, the purse is set to a whopping $10m. The next highest overall purse among the women’s majors was just $6.8 million.
With the record purse for the biggest Women’s Open Golf tournament, the winner will earn a record $1.8m prize money as well—even those who would not cut will leave the tournament with $8,000.
Here’s what Jon Podany, the USGA’s chief commercial officer has said at the conference:
“We could have gone to eight [million dollars] and still been the highest major in the game, even seven, and just felt like that wasn’t enough, that we wanted to really create the kind of stage that these women deserve and to take it beyond that.”
