Round 4 Preview:
Heading into the third round of the BMW Championship, an old familiar face finds himself in the lead: Adam Scott. The 2013 Masters champion followed up a first-round 65 with a two-under 69 on Friday, moving him to eight under and giving him a one-shot lead with 36 holes to play.
But a long list of elite players are nipping at his heels. Among them is World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who shook off a MC last week to get to seven under through two rounds at the BMW, one behind Scott. And he has company at seven under, including Jordan Spieth, Cameron Young and Corey Conners.
As if the leaderboard wasn’t stacked enough, there a bunch of heavy hitters at six and five under, including betting favorite Rory McIlroy, reigning FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.
