European Championships 2022 Preview

After 5 days of exciting sports events, the host nation Germany is leading the medal standings. They have achieved 10 gold medals, one more than the second place France. Great Britain is right behind them with 8 gold medals.

World-class athletes will take the tracks and fields on Day 6. The Track Cycling will feature gold medal matches for men and women at Messe Munich. Women’s Madison and Keirin Finals will take place just before the Men’s Madison and Keirin  Finals.

Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen will race for gold in the men’s 5000m at Olympic Stadium. He won the men’s 1500m and 5000m titles in Berlin four years ago when he was only 17. He is the Tokyo Olympic gold medallist for 1500m and the World 5000m Champion.

The Tokyo Olympic 100m gold medallist Marcell Jacobs (Italy) will race for his first European Championships title.

The Men’s and Women’s Round of 32 Table Tennis will go underway on Tuesday. The World No. 2 duo Kristian Karlsson and Mattias Falck of Sweden are the favorites to win the men’s doubles. The pair will look for their first European Championships title, having won the silver four years ago in Berlin. They claimed gold in the World Table Tennis Championships last year.

Beach Volleyball will feature a mouth-watering clash when the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Champion Kira Walkenhorst (Germany) will pair up and face the defending champions Nina Brunner and Tanja Huberli of Switzerland.
